Thumbs up black housing on my z

finally!! black housing on my SS z!!

this project is very time consuming, took me approximately 12 hours to finish it, but DEFINATELY worth it. i know there is a company which make blacking housing too, look extremly nice but the price is $800, waay too expensive IMO.

now it only cost me 20 bucks(primer, paint, sandpaper, silicone)
very satisfy with the result!
thanks laosifu for the very helpful write up!

enjoy the pics:

i like it! though i will admit it takes some ***** to crack open the factory housing.

give us updates on leaking or fogging or anything. (i've always heard nightmarish stories about cracking the seal on the headlights)

that looks quite nice. i wonder how a flat black would look. i think they should have come from the factory like this.

i think you guys should not be so afraid to open the housings. just use a heat gun and take your time. as far as sealing i have never had a problem with it and ive taken apart many lights on other cars. you know there is a vent right? so they arent completely sealed to begin with.

Very nice, I would love to do this on my SS Z. I wonder how long they will hold up?
