Joel - do yourself a favor, pick something else. Every single one of these that I have seen in person, from ones that were just installed out of the box, to others that were "adjusted" by bodyshops, fits like doo-doo. With all the nice stuff you have, this piece is not a compliment by any means. FWIW the VIS and Seibon ones are better, though not much. I've got local guys with those too (not from me), and if they had to do it again, they would have left it stock. The VIS being the 2nd to worse one I've seen. The Seibon ones are better, in that they have a better success rate of fitting, but like the rest of their stuff, it's 50/50

I agree, they definitely make the Z look super sweet, but fit is horrid. The funny thing is that the guy I bought the mg hatch from, his fitment was PERFECT on his Z. We traded out my hatch and my hatch fit like a glove on his Z, but his mg hatch fit like dookie. Oh well, i take comfort in that i lost some weight in the whole process, lol.

Yea it seems that is the general consensus... I'll just keep my V3.

Flip the hinges. Gets rid of the gap 120%. In fact, I needed to use spacers or else it would be TOO tight. The only other problem I have that I couldn't fix with mine was the difference in height between the hatch and the roof.
Can you please explain "Flip the Hinges"? Thx!

Sorry, didn't see your question.

Take off the hinge. Drill out the pin in the hinge itself. Assemble it the other way. I used a nail (forgot the exact dimensions of it) and hammered down the end like a rivet. I also had to do minor trimming of the hinge to make it articulate fully, but it all fit much better afterwards.
I'll draw a diagram later when I get a chance, if this makes no sense to you right now.

I had a Seibon hatch. Fitment was spot on. Looked great. Sold it for a Mastergrade hatch for that built in wing. Overall fitment was 6/10 on MG, Seibon was 9/10. Also the MG hatch is definitely thinner in actual material than the Seibon. The Seibon didn't flex (as noted in my rearview mirror) when driving 50 mph with the window open. The MG looks like it could blow out at 50 mph. (But it hasn't...not even up to 120mph with window open)
You can actually fit a few fingers under the MG rear edge by the locking mechanism and lift the hatch about 3 inches its soooo thin and flexible. I wish I had my seibon back.

Edit 3/10 is not fair. If it was truly that bad, I wouldn't use it. Truth of the matter is that its not bad at all. So my score was adjusted to 6/10.

Its an amazing looking hatch and definitely reduces weight, just a lot of fitment issues. If you are willing to take the challenge or take to a body shop, it will look amazing. I hate the fitment, but love how it looks.

I've been swamped at work lately and won't have any free time until after this weekend. I'll try to get a diagram up, but pics may have to wait.
