06-09 Headlight Flicker Question
I have a 5901 viper alarm.
I've programmed it to automatically lock the doors when I either:
a) turn the car on manually sans remote start after 5 seconds goes by
or
b) after I manually take over which occurs after I remote start the car (again w/ 5 sec delay) This "manual take over" occurs on all remote starts when you turn the key to acc the area right before you crank the car.
In any event. If I have the headlights on and then the doors are locked by the viper brain my headlights flicker. If headlights aren't on they do not flicker.
The exact same thing occurs when I turn the car off. 3 seconds go by and I get headlight flicker if I haven't turned headlights off in time.
Is this bad for the headlights? I read it was back when I owned a TSX but not sure on my 350z. I do plan on upgrading to STI lens as well. Everytime the headlights flicker I hear a slight .8 second buzz sound.
Aside from turning the viper auto lock/unlock feature off and aside from me waiting to turn headlights on / immediately turning them off any remedies?

sounds like theres a good amount of power being drawn, that is causing ur headlights to flicker.(HIDS right?) if so, the ballasts are flickering because they arent getting enough power to operate properly...
