Default Paddle Shifters :)

One..which model Z's come are Automatic w/ Paddle Shifters?

Is it better to race a straight up 6speed manual Z then an Auto with Paddles? Can you get the same speed and acceleration, etc?

no Z came with paddle shifters. they all come with the slap-stick style or shiftronic or whatever gimmicky name you want to call them. there is an aftermarket paddle shifter set up from Works Bell if you really want them.

for the 350 the auto is a little slower, the drivetrain saps more power. auto tech is getting better though, look into the 370z if you want an auto that is more capable.

There is an aftermarket paddle shifter kit you can get for automatics. It does the same thing as the slap stick thing. Gimmicky- doesn't add anything to the car other than being able to say "i have paddle shifters".

Short of having some kind of DSG-type gearbox, paddleshifters are pointless.

I have to admit it though that Works Bell makes some pretty trick stuff. They do claim that their kits reduce shift times over the stock slap stick too.

The only advantage to paddles is you can keep both hands on the wheel. Probably would help when tracking or autoXing the Z.

The Nizmo trim might have the paddle shift option. you would have to import to US shore.
