Not only do they look ghey, aftermarket tails are known to make the Zs ecu go crazy. Check out the threads, hopefully it makes you stop from buying these ugly things.

Aftermarket tails tend to run super low voltage and possibly leak current, which doesnt matter on some cars, however the Z has a brake light switch tied into the tail light wiring that when activated by brake light via pedal, triggers the ECU to tell the engine to throttle down thinking your braking in an attempt to assist you in slowing down.
Aftermarket tails can sometimes confuse the ECU because it doesnt know whether your braking or not, and this can cause a constant damping on the throttle by the ECU (Which was case with me) or even like some guys on here it will cause the car to go into safe-mode not letting you rev above 3k.
It was unclear what exactly was happening in the electrical, but most of us narrowed it down to the above and it was a definite that the tails were causing the problem.
Point of story, dont mess with the taillights. OEM or nothing.
