Default Expected Life Span of Stock D2R HID Bulb

I like to have my low beams on even during the day for safety reasons (visibility to on-coming traffic) however after reading that the D2R HID bulb replacements cost $$$ I'm wondering if anyone knows the expected life span of our stock D2R bulbs.

i would think for atleast 3 years or more. The HID bulbs run at a cooler temperate hence have a much longer life than a halogen.

Zivman, any thoughts?
