Aftermarket HIDs on Base never can be better than OEM HIDS?
If a 3 series projector will fit I would opt for that conversion rather than the stock HID kit. I have been wanting HID's on a basemodel for some time. I like the HID's in my 240sx but they are not factory and blinding 1/10 the people coming the other direction is the result.

If you are using the stock S14 projector with a xenon capsule, you're lighting pattern is flawed. As for the Z33 HID, I dont think the lighting is bad.. I think some people just cant be satisfied. The Z33 has fairly good optics.

I just ordered the Brightstar 5000K HID set for my base and hoping it looks good. Paid $399.00 which seems to be a pretty good price. I didnt get the 6000 b/c I heard that it doesnt give off as much light. But hope it will look good. Getting it in tomorrow
