hel removing the rear wieght

(*help)
does anyone konw how to remove the wieght(10 pound) from rear hatch?
i cant even take the plastic cover rear hatch off

the weight is 1 lbs not 10.. the plastic is held in by plastic clips.. just pry off easily.

really 1lbs i had read before it was 10 but anyways the clipps wont come off i had the rear hatch painted and wing put in but its to heavy to open.

the weight that is bolted to the top of the hatch is 1 lb

The weight is there for mass damping. Removing it will make the car noisier.
