Default Front Lips

Just wondering how hard/easy is it to install the front lips? Is it possible to be done by a newb who doesn't know much about working on the car? Are there any instructions or DIY somewhere that I can follow? For example something like this.....

http://cgi.ebay.ca/03-04-05-NISSAN-3...#ht_4351wt_907

Also, is it possible to install them just the way they are? I mean without painting them or anything, if I want to go with a contrasting theme, so to speak. Or would they look odd installed in the black they come with?

And what about these kind of lips? They are just covers, so I am assuming they just stick with double sided tape or something?

I was just actually using that as an example of a lip. Because no matter where and the kind of lip I order it'll look like that. I am looking at CF lips and they look just like that, so wondering about how they are installed and stuff.

Each brand varies a bit in ease of installation. Some are better than others but most are done with a few well placed screws (fender well) and some double sided 3M tape. Typically the cheap fiberglass knock offs fit with gaps right out of the box. The higher priced glass and urethane versions typically fit nice and snug out of the box.

Contrast of primer(unpainted black) and any Z will make it look like a Riced out Civic.. Stick to your guns, get carbon fiber or paint match to your car.

Also be wary of ANYthing off ebay.. you could get a "carbon fiber lip" thats just a lip with an autozone sticker wrap job on it... If you feel like your wallet is being ripped out through your throat--its probably goin to be a sick lip.....

$20 says the lip in the picture and the lip you are buying are two different things.

$100 says it won't fit.

Save up and get a quality lip...not from eBay.

I am deff not buying from ebay. If I do, I will buy those cf covers. The second link i posted. I don't see that there would be much wrong with them you know? It's just a cover and I am guessing it'll have some double sided tape to stick to the middle part of the front bumper.

To answer your question, a quality lip is very easy to put on. It just slips on and you apply your double side tape if needed and screw'er in.

A poor quality lip will sometimes need adjustments, trimming or additional work before it will fit right.

I personally have a cf cover i bought from the zstore. i love it. i think it looks good on cars going with a subtle look. nice wheels and a drop and you can be done. if you wanna go a diff route just pull it off and up grade... kinda win win. i spent i think... 120 for my cf cover and no complaints.
