Default How do i fill the rear hatch sprayer hole??? Help!

So i've seen the numerous write-ups on shaving the rear hatch but don't know what material to use to fill the rear hatch sprayer hole. Since there is glass surrounding the hole, my body shop guy doesn't want to weld around it (understandable) but i've seen various shaved rear hatches and was wondering if anyone had a permanent long term solution to fixing this problem. I considered bondo but didn't know if it would work as a permanent fix...as I am very meticulous with my car I want it done right the first time.

Any ideas, thoughts, solutions?

I had an idea for mine. I personally never listen to the radio so to clean my car up I want to shave out the anteana and wiper. Then remove the window sprayer and mount a flush Sirius/Xm reciver over the whole. Dought this is what your looking for but thought it may give you some ideas.

black plastic plug seems temporary only, I want it to be a solid long-term fix.

I never thought about the satellite radio fix. Thats a great idea! my roommate has sirius in his car... I'll take his receiver out and play around with it.

Another question.....
Anyone know if it's possible to weld the sprayer hole from the inside then fill the rest of the hole with windshield glass repair on the outside? I know it's only used to fill fine cracks and small holes but don't see why i couldn't manipulate it to fill the rest of the space left by removing the washer sprayer...has anyone had the marbles to try such a fix? or would it not work???

You can not weld glass, just put a flush fitting snap in piece over it.

inside the hatch their is metal exposed where i was talking about welding. on the outside of the car, is where i was thinking about using the glass filler. I'm very aware of the fact you can't weld glass but thats not what I was proposing.

Where do I get these snap in pieces at? im thinking lowes or auto store would carry something like that...and an item name or number would help too if you got it

Home Depot, one you remove the washer nozzle all there is left is a hole is the glass. The disco the pump going to it, there are two pumps on the washer tank.

Well i'll try the plastic plug, but what do you use to hold it in place on the glass? i'm thinking some sealant on the inside would do the trick.

Have the body shop weld a piece of scrap to the inside of the hatch. Then fill it with bondo and smooth it... Welding shouldn't matter tho cause he should cover the glass.. If sparks fly from the welding n land on the glass it leaves these wicked raised grains like sand that don't come off.. N if u tint over it, it bubbles up around them...

Fill the hole with black silicone sealer. When it's cured, trim it flush with a razor blade.

Well tonight I took off the rear wiper, nissan hatch emblem, and hatch squirter. Didn't take very long, except the nissan hamburger was a PITA to get off. Probably due to my lack of a heat gun or hairdryer so I used dental floss and Goof-off to melt the adhesive away. Took a good 30min of "sawing" with the dental floss to get the nissan hamburger separated. Body shop gets the car in the morning.
Thanks for the ideas everyone...turns out the 7/8th Hillman nylon plug cover fits like a glove as recommended by others on here. Gonna have the body shop paint the plug cover to match the car and picked up some water/heat/freeze proof silicone sealant. Will take pics of the shaved rear hatch once I get the finished product.

I got it from my graphic sponsor from motocross, you could go to any sign shop though and ask them to cut a 1.5 in diameter circle

update...

Just got the car back and she looks beautiful. Shop did a great job with the paint blending and filling the old spoiler holes, nissan emblem, and rear wiper hole. I also found out they guarantee their work for life! And as a courtesy, they buffed out a few scratches and touched up some old rock chips for free!!! highly recommend shop with great skills...
