Default Pic request:HR hood on 2003-2005

I've been searching and see that obviously an HR hood will fit on any year Z, but I havent seen any pics of one on an older Z. I've been tossing the idea around but I want to make sure that the HR hood will look alright with the 2003-2005 bumper, headlights, etc...

Thanks in advance.

It's... the same. Look at an 07, and aside from headlights that's what yours will look like

The hood and headlights aren't the only difference, the bumpers are different too.

I understand why you're saying that, but I'm just really curious because all the HR hoods I see are on Zs with different bumpers and headlights. Just want to get an idea for my car before I buy one.

Seriously, the headlights and bumper isn't going to make it look any different. The front bumpers on all year Z's look very identical with minimal differences between the years.

Here:

Now can we close this stupid thread?

We did the HR swap for the Nissan Sport magazine T2 racecar and here's a pic from the SCCA Runoffs last year. It originally had a Rev-up VQ, but as you can see, we had to swap the hood to make it work:

Thanks for the picture. And yeah I suppose it can be closed now. I'm not really sure how much of a difference it'll make.

as everyone said, there's not really much of a difference at all when you compare both side by side. i'd rather put my money towards the 06-08 bi xenon headlamps than the HR hood.

I get what you're saying. I'd love to have the new headlights, but I'm pretty nooby when is comes to wiring stuff up like that.

If yours are hid now then it is plug and play.Lighting and look is a lot better than 05 headlight.

I've considered this replacement since I've installed my Kinetix Racing V+ plenum. The torque of the engine has caused the plenum to rub or vibrate against the hood support during "spirited accelerations". This hasn't made any unfavorable sounds but it has made a very small divet in the plenum. I've used a Dremel to cut out that section of the hood support, but it still does it every once in a while. I've pondered on engine dampers but since this is my DD, I don't want that energy tranfered inside to make everything else rattle.

Yeah, I've looked at a couple of the how to's, but there's no doubt I'd need help with it. Wiring isnt my forte. Where's the cheapest place to pick up some of those headlights anyway? I think as far as expense goes the hood would be cheaper to start.

Sounds like this hood would help then.

I did the swap myself with the headlights and I have a base. It is time consuming but not difficult. And the headlights make a huge difference in not only looks but lighting. The design of the bi xenon gives a more luxury expensive look to the Z. The older headlights are pos. I got mine off ebay for about 700$. I got a great deal, but they will run for about 700-1000$ for the pair used.

I am contemplating the hood swap as well, only because it looks alot meaner with that hump. Some don't like it, I love it.
