Default DB Z with orange seats?

Hello everyone,
I have really enjoyed reading this board over the last month. I hope to join your ranks shortly. I was at the auto show recently and saw a dark blue M3 convertible with orange leather and it looked HOT! I was wondering if anyone has done orange seats on the Daytona Blue Z. I am not too sure I will like it because I think that DB may be too light to pull it off. Are there any photo shoppers out there that will help out?

Thanks
Jerry

Please don't do that.

Sorry, just my opinion, but that seems WAY too flashy.

350zSpeedRacer,
I would have thought the same thing until I saw them on the M3. The M was a darker blue though. It would be great if someone could photoshop it.

Default orange seats

Hi there.
I know exactly what you mean when you say.... Orange seats.
I wanted to buy my car Daytona Blue and orange seats in it. I had my dealer called Japan many times to see if they could do it, and the answer was not..... Then I saw the orange and black seats on the convertible and thought..... men... this is what I want. Since I was ordering my car 4 months in advance before production I thought I coud have it done. The thing is that they only make the Silver and Black Z with orange seats.... So if you want orange seats you would have to go with a black color Z.

Hope this helps

RRT,
I guess you would have to go aftermarket leather to do it. I think that the DB roadster would look great with the orange and black seats too.

Is it just me or does silver and orange just not match?! Blue and orange would be a wayyyy better combo (although i wouldn't do it personally) than something that just clashes. Oh well, I thought us japanese had a good sense of style

it's just you. silverstone and orange go great together ....maybe not chrome silver though...too bright. Blue and orange are indeed complimentary colors though(opposite each other on the color wheel) so in theory they should go well together. Personally, I think only a dark navy blue would work well with the orange seats. DB blue is very bright and the orange seats are very bright...it might make the car look a bit cartoonish or toy-like. Orange needs a darker more muted color to help balance out its brightness. IMHO, YMMV.

zeroday,
Nice car man. I love that spoiler. I think that you may be right about the Daytona Blue being too bright to go with the orange seats. I would love to see a photo shop of one though. I just might like it since I am a Florida Gator fan.

My first thoughts were that it would be a bad combination but one of the Australian members here had the dealer swap the orange seats into his DB. It actually looks rather good IMO.

He may post pics if he sees this thread but I'm not sure he drops by all that much.

I think the orange seats would look great on the DB. I don't know if it could beat out that frost interior in the DB touring though! Beautiful!

M3's can get realy flashy with int/ext combos specially with BMW's Individual option. Take a look at the link below and you will se some prety ones and some not too much. Maybe one of them could give you an idea of what you want.

Here's a sample of what you can see there, this one is Agean Blue with Kiwi int.

I'm putting the orange seats in my Z, but I'm going with replacing the cloth covers with Katzkins in the same color (didn't want the heavy heated/motorized seats)

It's definately a color combination that will look good as stated by the fact that they are complimentary colors, and I don't think that the burnt orange color is too saturated or vibrant...the blue definately is bright though.

I am for sure doing it to mine.

QuartZ,
Please post pics when you get the seat covers. Unfortunately, I think that aftermarket may be the only way to get this combo. The roadster would look so HOT with the orange/black mesh seats too.

No problem. The dealer had my seats reupholstered by an upholstery shop, when I bought the car. They threw it in on the deal for free.
