Default Nismo shift **** install trouble...

Ok so at the risk of being labeled "the guy who can't even install a shift ****", I need help installing a shift ****...I took off the stock shift ****, got the 10mm black titanium nismo shift **** and go to install it. I opened the box and there's the shift **** and the black rubber gasket type thing. slide the gasket on and then i realize the inside of the shift **** is not threaded, and is loose as heck. there's no holes for screwing the bish on so i'm kinda lost...do i not have everything that is suppose to come with it? thanks in advance...

I really hope you did not over pay.. I say this because there is no Black Titanium Shift **** of that type. That is a Black Aluminum Shift **** you have there.. There are also Polished and Carbon/Aluminum Versions. How much did you purchase it for?

BTW i think that the plastic threading is most likely been removed.. you can follow what this guy did when he melted all the plastic threading from his shift **** while making it unique. https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...-coloring.html

Good Luck

here's a link to what i got

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-N...Q5fAccessories

from the picture, it looks like i got everything...there's the **** and the rubber base...mine lacks the shift pattern placard...but as stated, the inside of the **** isn't threaded and is too big for me to "make" it thread

btw, i paid $40

You bought a $40 paperweight. I have that same ****, bought brand new though. There should be a white plastic looking piece that's inside the ****. From what I remember it doesn't have threads and I'm assuming they are made as you screw it on.

The white plastic that should be inside is self-threading. If it's there, then just unscrew the old one, and screw on the new one. Use a little downward force when you thread the new one on.

For the record, I had a little regret for buying the black aluminum shift ****. During hot summer days, my sweaty hands would sometimes slip right off the ****.

I got the same ****. Put on the rubber gasket then push the shift **** hard on to the thread and twist. It will thread itself on to the shifter. Hope i could help.

the white plastic piece is what you might be missing. black material + hot sunlight = fail
