Default cats/exh are heat soaking my shifter/interior

Yo..

suuuper Lame problem here in AZ... and even tho its only 65 out, its starting already.

I have the factory shifter still ( for a short time) and a greddy ****.
Ive used the aluminum one as well as the counterweighted ones.. all have the same issue. I'm jumping on this now as Im repalcing clutch, fly, lines, trans mount, and replacing w a TWM short shifter and one of thier counterweighted ***** too... I wanna nip this in the butt now.

The issue is that aside from just being hot because its going to be 158 degrees inside my car in the summer... the REAL issue is that even when garaged, parking my car after driving heat soaks the living crap out of my shifter assembly istelf, the center console, and much of the floor of the car. Its pretty intense, and I usually just pop the **** off and let it sit in my ac flow before i drive, but man, its BAAADDD. Like severe burns bad, seriously.

If you live in AZ you know exactly what Im talking about.

My thoughts on a fix were this..
#1, take some headder wrap and wraps my cats if possible, curing the whole problem hopefully.
#2, coat my shifter and shift **** in silver jet hott ceramic and at least retain my hand skin.

YES.. IT IS TRULY THIS BIG OF A PAIN WHERE IM MOVED TO DO THIS. IM NOT BORED ... I PROMISE.

Are there any forseeable problems keeping that much heat in my cats using a wrap?

Change to test pipes or HFC's, test pipes will run much cool , aftermarket HFC's seem to be smaller and not put off as much heat. I have run both on my car. That helps with the floor problem, also you can get the foil backed Dynamat and do both footwells and part of the trans tunnel by your feet. Next buy a Delron shift **** (white is best) Your windows are already tinted, use a sunshade while parked and if possible keep yoru windows cracked 1/4 inch.

Vegas is also hot as hell, it takes 30 minuted for my black leather seats to cool down on my way home from work in the summer. First 10 minutes of driving really sucks, and at idle, parked, my AC system has shut down 3 times now.

Check out DEI (Design Engineering Inc), they make all kinds of heat sheilding for exhaust, tunnel, etc.

Default bang..

Nice! thanks fer the input ppl..

Yeah the delrin ***** are cool, but too light for me, and not the right look.. i like that Ferarri gated look, so I bought a stainless weighted ball w a shift extender from TWM.. short shifter, extender and shift **** was 400 frign bucks, but the quality should be siiiick.

Ill look into that heat shiled company next... it will need HFCs soon enuff anyways, and to be honest, Ill probably still buy some header wrap from Summit before they get installed.

Default yikes

If it aint one thing, its a billion others..

So i went ahead on ordered the test pipes... and the DEI titanium header wrap... AND i ordered a TWM shifter, extender, and M1 Abrams ****... AND i sent the **** and shift ball to Jet Hott to ceramic coat them in a nice shiny polished silver ceramic coating. This better do the trick.. i did NOT take the cheap way out here.

btw.. works great.. never got around to sending out the stuff to get jett hott coated yet, but so far, tis much better.. heat soak is gone after driving.. the only thing is that the ambient temp still gets it warm... so the jet hott will help that.
