Default ARC Shift **** Question

What's with the Double threading? There's like a plastic piece farther inside the shift **** with the actual M10x1.25 thread that the shifter attaches to, and then a giant *** thread at the base into the actual metal...

When mounted on the shifter, there's a gap/space because the girth of the shifter isn't as big as the opening of the ****

What's the point of the large threading at the base of the ****?

Assume so. Multiple inserts allow different applications.

Indeed a universal thing. All the ***** are machined the same with a different plastic insert.
