halogen or HID? (pic) help
i have a 05 350zr and i was just wondering if these are halogen headlamps or HiD? how can you tell? im looking into upgrading the lighting. thanks

I believe in the 05 Z the low beam is def HID , but the High beam is not.....

looks like a fancy flashlight to me.
HID's IMO, could be a trick. Check for ballasts

As far as I know, you can tell by the way they turn on.

definitely HID. looks much brighter than stock. kinda like a 6000 or 8000k

6000k or 8000k won't be any brighter... That is the color temperature of the light output, not the brightness.

i used the wrong term. i know it's not "brighter" when you increase kelvin rating. I meant to say it has a more BLUE-ish tint than stock.

mine kind of blink rapidly for like .05 seconds right before turning on. Does this sound like HID to you??

you dont suppose i need to buy an hid kit to tint it blue it a little, or do i just need 8000k bulb?

I wouldn't "upgrade" to 8000k hids because the lu* output would be dismal. The beam patter wouldn't project as well and it would be more of a bright flood light.
If your hids flicker too much or are dim they could be on there way out. Replacement D1R would fit the bill.

so far i have this, I do have HID headlamps. the replacement= d1r bulb, just wanted to get everyones opinion on these bulbs from idjmtoy, good company by the way iv purchased LEDS from here and they have great customer service.
