Default Color Changing License Plate Lights

Hey every1, I used to have a license plate frame that would glow white when I drove at night but would change color and glow red when I hit the brakes. I see alot of people exchanging their license plate bulbs with cool white l.e.d.s but never seen some1 take it a step further and make them turn red with the brakes engaged.

My question is, has some1 on here done this to their car if so please tell me how you did it or if you can buy a kit where did you buy it thanks

Thats a pretty cool idea I might have to look into that but it shouldn't be that difficult. just have a white set of leds and a red set of leds and use a relay. have the white on the normally closed pin and the red on the normally open pin and splice into the brake lights to trigger the relay when you hit your breaks. I'll draw up a diagram to make it more clear.

Ok here ya go just make sure your led pods or whatever you are going to use run off 12v

How to wire up the relay

Parking brake wire on drivers side of trunk behind the styrofoam pink/blue wire +

License plate illumination wire center of the rear wall of the trunk red/blue wire +

I currently don't have any led pods and don't really feel like going to town today or I would install and demo this

Speeding is illegal in every state yet everyone does it at some point. But really unless you just have some d!ck cop or are acting like an a$$ then they most likey aren't going to write you up for anything like that. In fact most of the time that I get pulled over it's just that the cop wants to take an upclose look at my car.

@AJCaron12 @Mcutali I don't recall the op asking for opinions on the matter. The question was has anyone did this and how it could be done. If you don't like the idea **** off, no one needs your comment

Good idea! I like it!

If it was changing from white to blue or something like that, then it would be rice... But white to red is cool!

I dont see how adding red leds to his license plated make the op a ricer? Its not like hes adding green underglow lights, NOS stickers or a type R emblem? Many members here add carbon fiber to their Z side markers, are you guys gunna bash them too?
