I did the same to my Z a while back, and its held up pretty good. It was kind of hard to for me to do around the ac controls

I've heard that the shiny dinoc is not made by 3m. It supposedly real dinoc that a middle man buys and then he puts a shiny clear plastic over it. I haven't had any hands on experience with it but the company i bought my 3m dinoc from gave me this info and also said it is tougher to use because the shiny stuff makes it slightly thicker.

3M does have a new shiny film out. It's called 1080-CF12 Black Carbon Fiber

I did the same thing to my roof and door switch. Thinking to redo everything since there is gloss version now.
