I AM IN DEBATE AND NEED HELP ON THE HEADLINER. THE DEBATE IS WHETHER I SHOULD USE LEATHER OR SUEDE FOR MY HEADLINER. IT WILL BE COVERED IN STITCHED DIAMONDS LIKE THE SEATS. I LIKE THE SUEDE LOOK BUT I HAVE ENOUGH LEATHER LEFT OVER TO WRAP THE HEADLINER IF I WANT. THE SUEDE I'M LOOKING AT WILL COST ME $75 TO WRAP THE HEADLINER WITH SO IS IT WORTH GETTING SUEDE OR WOULD LEATHER LOOK JUST AS GOOD?
BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE SUEDE HEADLINER.

My vote is for suede, I feel like leather would be a tad too reflective for headliner material.

Use a thin, light weight microfiber (looks like suede) or a fake suede. Real leather is quite heavy and will be a lot more likely to pull apart from the backing and fall down over time.

That, and leather won't look good.

I like it. I'm still planning on trying to make it sportier though. Always like pictures of similar designs. Thanks.

Well it looks like i'm going with suede but i think I'd rather go with the real suede over the fake. I will give the fake suede a chance and compare the two but as of now I'm planning real suede. Thanks for the input.

I'll post some when i have time. I think it turned out great. I have noticed it collects dust easy.

Thanks, i appreciate the support. I apologize to everyone on how slow progress is going. I'm working 40 hours a week and going to school 6 hours a day so progress is going much slower than i had planned. Also I'm still waiting on 1/4" foam from a local shop. They say its coming in this week so that would make things start moving.

bro.. do NOT use real suede in a car.. thats upholstery 101.
That lambo uses alcantara and its not real suede.. please for the love of god.
its a higher grade than the stuff you get at hancock farbics etc.. but not by much.

I have spent thousands on my interior.. i use normal suede.. slow down, take your time... any auto shop will tell you real suede is absolutley not what to use.

Also the quality feel of the car would suffer greatly w a leather headliner.. its meant to cut reflection of high frequency sound.. and leather will make it sound like a hospital room in there.

Im not trying to type in a mean tone.. but just trying to save you before you do something rash. hope it helps.
