thank you guys, so much. the scuffed paint was really an eyesore.
Looks like the compound works great. You should bring it by a shop now and see if its a candidate for PDR. The whole thing could end up costing a fraction of what you thought it'd be

nice im glad it all worked out for ya. like stated take it to the body shop and ask about paintless dent repair(PDR). usually cost around 50 to 100 bucks. however they might now be able to fix yours since its on that body line. but just ask wont hurt to chack.

ouch, you used rubbing compound? I hope it was meguiars ultimate compound and not actually rubbing compound because it would swirl up and scratch up the entire finish of that panel... that's equivalent to taking 5000-6000 grit sandpaper and scuffing up the paint. regardless, good thing it wasn't paint damage. you'd be surprised at the ability of some PDR dudes at removing things like these. good luck!

I'm assuming he used polishing compound, not rubbing compound. Much less abrasive

much less agressive yes but he may not be someone that really cares. i know ive seen quite a few pics of members car where they have ALOT of swirls from washing. **** you cant tell unless the sun hits it. if he used rubbing compound he wont be able to tell if he's not someone thats really into detailed cars.
