Default Carbon Fiber hood question

Hey guys! I had a question....

I recently bought a 04 Z and it came with a CF hood. I'm not a CF kind of guy I love the original hood and posted an ad on craigslist to swap out hoods only if theirs is black so I wouldn't have to paint it. A couple people replied to me in the morning and wanted to meet up to see it. Are CF hoods more expensive than a regular hood? Should we go half half on the installation bill? Should either of us pay more than the other?

Also, the guy wanted to know what brand the hood is and style/version? I looked under the hood and couldn't find anything...
and by style it looks like the original one just that it's carbon fiber. Can anyone help me determine what kind it is?

Thanks so much guys!

installation bill? um....its 4 easily accessible bolts and takes 10 minutes in a hot parking lot. it self aligns very very easily. Its seriously the easiest mod on Gods green earth.

There should be no bodyshop involvement for this in the least respect.

they ( cf hooods) usually retail for 600-800 dollars new. There is zero performance benefits to them unless they have vents for heat as the orig hood is alum and extremely light.

^^^very good summary. The oem cf hood is usually cheaper than other styles. Its probably VIS or other brand as it doesnt have a seibon stamp w/serial number on the underside.

I think you could get a couple bucks from it. $50 sounds about right.

50 bucks is fair, but do the swap yourself (with the help of the other person)

it is probably a no name. most major brands have badges (vis, seibon, asuka, etc.)

+1
despite what someone else said, vis will have a badge. It's probably a generic hood. I would normally try to get some $ for the swap, but hard to say since you don't know what brand it is or if it's no name. Even though it's oem style different hoods will have different price tags. And you can definitely put a stock hood on yourself. If anything the person getting the cf hood will need help, but usually not so much that a shop needs to get involved.

Swap plus $50 on their end sounds reasonable. You should be able to knock out the removal and installation by yourself in no time.
