Default FFFUUUU.....shopping cart :/

I was heading out of town yesterday and stopped to get a bite to eat and make a phone call. Pulled into a grocery store parking lot (far away from any cars or cart stations) right next to a McDonalds and walked about 10 feet from the car when I saw a shopping cart out of the corner of my eye.

I turned around and watched this cart come flying down and slam right into the driver side door. Dented the hell out of the door and chipped the paint. Taking it into the shop on Tuesday. Any guesses on the estimate?

The odds of that thing coming down to this middle of nowhere in this parking lot and directly at my car are too slim. I think someone did it intentionally, but I didn't see a single soul in the parking lot.

Paintless dent removal to retain factory paint, should be an easy fix, about ~$200. Body shop would be more costly.

My shop has a paintless dent guy. He did both my doors last year for $200.

Paint is definitely chipped. Already showed my guy and he said painless probably won't work. Guess I'll see on Tuesday.

Try heating it with a heat gun or hair dryer. Heat gun would probably be best. Turn some air duster (the keyboard cleaning stuff) upside down and spray on the dent after it's nice and hot. The air duster comes out as a very cold liquid when the can is upside down and on a hot dent, will force it to pop out.

That looks pretty bad but it's worth a shot.

You can get heat guns at Harbor Freight for less than $20 and a can of air duster or 2 will hit you for $4-8.
