Default 350z fender's custom vent

Hello guys

I just asked a freind to PS this side vent on a Z which im in the progress of building my Z to look like it. Honestly I'm 50 50 from doing it, I like how they look from a profile pic, but worried how they will look from a rear corner. Coz in order to make it, the body shop will need to push the chopped portion in, and that's what I don't really like

without

With

Ps, sorry to the owner of that Z, just need to use it so that I can imagine the vents on.

What do you think guys?

just the fender would be cool, but then again this is just where the bar it set. I see your in the UAE should be and easy job for the shops over there.

It's an easy job, but not sure if they will look good or not.

Actually would make it functional, to keep the engine bay always cool

not really.

there is no real direct opening from the engine firewall to the fender area unless you drill holes. the current openings for routing of the windsheild spray lines

the venting of the fenders is mainly for reduction of air vortices (drag) that the front wheel makes.

if you want cooler engines, that will have to be from the top side or rechanneling the underbody.

thanks chebosto

actually im aware about the firewall being there, but i thought of drill/cut some opening to make the air flow from the engine bay through these holes, and then through that side vents out to the atmosphere. but again whats behind the firewall?

anyways, if it gonna cost ma a lot of custom work to make it functional, then will still consider that side vents only for look

That is the unibody chassis, I cannot recommend drilling/cutting into it for something with such negligible benefits so that you can say "it's functional".

^ whats the source of that fender? not just a bodyshop I assume.

the sl fenders are the way to go.

considering how bad a body shop could potentially screw up.
