Question Z owners that have modded thier own headlights

Ready to paint these lights, just a little worried about them fogging up an having to re-open?

How did you reseal your lights?

How did it come out the first time?any tricks?

Did you add any silicone between the 2 pieces before re-baking them together?

Did just the silicone around the outside after re-baking seal tight?

What brand halo kit did you use ??and from where?

Any condensation or fog after ,trying 1 or more methods?

Any other helpful tips would be appreciated greatly...

https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...eadlights.html

there is a good write up for the halo mod and a place to get them...that is the DIY i used to do mine..

I would clean out as much of the old sealant as possible to avoid your lights fogging up then seal it back with some high temp gasket sealer from o'reilys or somewhere like that...

TAKE YOUR TIME!! tha is the best advice you can get, you dont want to take these apart twice..

Here are a couple pics of how mine turned out.

Default used with heat gun

This was done by using a heat gun. Not hard at all just be cautious and take your time. First time for me and it took about 4-5 hrs.

I did mine myself. It took a while, and a lot of beer/patience. If you're a perfectionist... I highly recommend sending them to someone else. Just my opinion.
