Hey guys, just picked up my Z last week and could use some insight. The navi cover doesnt open unless i tap the top of it, so I decided to open up the console n have a look. Cleaned out some gunk on the tracks and regreased it up. After hooking it back up, the power cover doesnt open/close and navi wont turn on. Ive already gone through as many navi threads as I could, but couldnt find a solution. Is there something I need to reset or tamper with? Any advise would be great, thanks everyone.

 

Did you take the unit out?. If so maybe while putting it back, the cable got unplugged. Take it out hook it up and try powering it on before putting it back

 

Mine did that when I bought it... the motor gears are stripped. You need to buy the whole cover assembly and it takes about 1hr to install it.

 

yeah I took out the cover, hooked everything back up I hear the dvd spin and beep but the cover/navi wouldnt respond to anything. I'll make 1 more attempt in taking it apart, make sure I wired everything back. All else fails ill bring it to a alarm/gps install company and have them look at it. Last thing I wanna do it take it to nissan...

 

I've never messed with the Navi, but I know there's a small cluster guage plug in the top left hand corner of the entire console assembly. Did you forget to re-plug this one in?

 

Same thing happened to mine... it stopped opening completely so I had to buy a new one lol.
