Fender Rolling Woes
After months of debating, I finally got my fenders rolled to accomodate 19.5/10.5 +22 wheels with 255/285 tires. I've always had the fenders cut on my previous vehicles so I was a bit worried about cracking paint, etc. To my surprise, the job was fairly quick and the paint didn't crack
. However, I did not expect the overall "fender pull" effect rolling would have on the quarter panel:

I know, not really a big deal, but it bothers me enough to consider getting both sides repainted, fenders cut, and sealed. I have selective OCD
. For you guys that got your fenders rolled, did you get similar results? Did you retain the original lines of the car 100%? Was the mechanic not careful enough? I watched him do one side and he was very cautious
.
By the way, the wheels on the pics are LMs, hence the enormous gap. I'm waiting on the lugs to arrive to install the TEs
.
In any case, this ruined my day and now I'm getting drunk and submitting pointless threads.

Yes i had the same results, and just like you i was not happy with the way the roller pushed out the fenders while rolling (I have selective OCD also). Mine was a bit more pull than yours, though. Also, i went too far down towards the skirt pushing it out there more, too. I tried to think of a way to push the fender back in, but by then i didnt care anymore. It still bothers me alittle bit.
Ill see if i can dig up a photo to show you.

It's just the way it goes. Cant bend metal one way and not expect it all to go that way unless you have counter pressure. but I dont think it looks bad. I actually HATE the flat spot on the quarters and rolled mine to match the rounded contour of the quarter. I think that is the ugliest parts of the z33/z34, those hedeous flat spots on the quarters, IMO it definitely takes away from the cars flow.

Drunk Rant: It's not the shop or mechanic that did the work that's the problem. It's actually a Nissan dealership that has race cars and competes in regional races. These are true car enthusiasts that care about their customers, with the owner, his son, and the mechanic who works on my car driving their race cars. They've worked on my Z cars since day 1. It's just the fact that I overlooked the fact that fender rolling would equate to fender pulling to a certain extent that bothers me. That pisses me off. Rant over.
Oh well, I'll eventually get a new car, need a paint job for my Z33, and I'll get this fixed then. In the meantime, Johnnie Walker and I drink to you.

Seriously, your car is beautiful!

dunno... i think it looks nice either way... quality work on those fender pulls in the pics above. You are surely OCD haha.. (as he lines up towels, turns **** three times before opening door) looks fine IMO.

Good for you. Though, the pull's barely noticeable.
Thanks, I since have seen more extreme pulls just by looking at other cars in this forum.
