Default removing tint/paint from tail lights

Hey guys,

My tail lights are blacked out but the tint/paint (not sure what it is) is faded and i want to remove it. Makes the car look bad from.the back

Just wondering what i can use?

Ill most likely fade them out afterwards again.
Thanks

Just slightly damp a small section of a shop rag with paint thinner and rub away. Dont use too much to the point its dripping. After, wash with soap and water.

If its tint, get yourself a blow dryer. Heat up on about 4-5 inches away and see what you can pull off by hand. Then use paint thinner like the first step or "Goo-gone" to remove the adhesive.

Materials needed(if paint):
1500 grit sandpaper
Wax
Water hose
Time

Keep your hose on the headlight while you sand away and it should take about 20 minutes each or so. Then wax them after you're done.

Use mineral spirits, Its not corrosive to plastics, DONT use acetone.

Mineral spirits with a sponge, will come right off, wash with soap after.

Acetone pits plastic, Thats why you dont pour it down sinks, It eats away the PVC

There's acetone in mineral spirits. I used straight up acetone and it came right off and there was no damage.
