Default driver's side moulding strap

Few months ago, i removed the driver's side moulding strap (the rubber thing that makes contact with the glass when closed.) Since then, the moulding near the B-pillar(?) won't entirely "hug" the glass when closed. not sure if that makes sense. This let the air inside while driving. Freaking annoying...
i removed and installed it a couple of times, but that strap won't "hug" the edge of the window.
Is there something i can apply to that area so no air comes in?
