Made a thread couple weeks back when my Z got vandalized and I was looking for black color suggestions. After much thinking, at the end decided to have to the whole Z repainted custom color Grigio Telesto aka Telesto Gray. Car was dropped of yesterday and they started working on my z immediately as soon I handed them the keys. Today I got a call from the shop asking if I wanted to drop by see the progress they been making. Couple of other parts getting painted/installed shine amuse front end, genuine nismo sides and rears, evo-r blitz half cf spoiler, aerocatch hood pins, etc.. I still got my Work VS-XX Burning Blacks on order and hopefully be here in a month or 2 and coilovers on the way as well. So I took a couple of photos and I will be updating this page regularly in the coming weeks.
Quick lazy pic i took of the z on the day I dropped it off, nothing much, pretty stock looking......

Bumpers, doors, hatch removed, Aerocatch Hood Pins Installed!

thats a fantastic color idea.. its similar to the new simple non metallic gray color you see on the new Scion TCs.. almost a gunship medium gray, no metalic.. i love it, thought of doing it myself.. they make a vinyl wrap material in that color.. if i get bored of black, its going gray...
props man.

thanks Waizzz, hope when the paint is done, wheels come in, and suspension is installed I can come to some of local socal meets, still have family and friends there and visit time to time.
I was thinking that, still debating if I do paint it, how I should have it painted. Like you mentioned leaving the air inlets unpainted, haven't seen anyone paint that way before who has an asuka type 1 hood so wondering how it would look (people who have the same hood, either paint the whole thing or leave it unpainted).
Hey Mike, the poms doing well, actually is now the "familys dog" , we named him Jin. I'll ask for some pictures and pm you some pics

I would leave the carbon fiber, carbon fiber. It might flow well? Just a thought. What about wheels, are you getting wheels?
I hope you get an alarm just incase a pissed off ex decides to mess with your car again.
suscribed for the end results.

I Actually wanted the color scheme(gunmetal non metallic body, but gloss black lips on front bumper, sides, rear) i can't wait to see it. People told me not to do it because it would look like a porsche(haters).

yup wheels are on the way, actually were ordered way before the z was vandalized. Already have an alarm but yeah need to be careful of my last ex she was semi crazy lol.
I say paint the whole hood but leave the vents, the carbon fiber is already pretty close to the color gray you are having the car painted. But if you paint everything but the vents it will leave a nice little accent that will help the car flow better imo... It kind've sucks that carbon fiber doesn't look as good with gray cars as other colors, it's just that it's not enough of a contrast to really stand out and look good, people just end up asking why your hood is a slightly different color than the rest of the car lol. Nice choice on the paint btw, I wish the Z's had come with a similar color choice stock.
In for final result....Leave hood unpainted or leave a little cf exposed as already suggested, either way the Cf blends well with dark grey. My boy just painted is G the Lexus IS color and his CF lip and hood blended in perfect with the grey, very subtle and clean

How is the pom doing? What did you guys name him, any pics?
