Alright guys, I just bought a CF hood from Carbon Creations and bought the Evo-R Hood dampers. I didn't realize until just now that using hood dampers with CF hoods is not recommended. Do you think that using the hood dampers on my hood would warp/damage it, or do you think it would be okay?
If it seems too risky, are there any hood dampers that are designed specifically for lightweight hoods? I haven't had much luck finding any via Google.
Thanks in advance.

theres probably like 75% of modded z's w/ cf hoods. even the ones with vents dont really do sheit. and the additional weight savings is minimal at best. same could be said about anything, wheels, brakes, aero etc on a street car. theyre never used to their full potential and are mostly for looks.

So recently i have been looking for a set of Hood Dampers.
My plan is to get a carbon fibre hood and i noticed that tein says not recommended for carbon fibre hoods, now does anyone know why that is?
Also has anyone heard of the brand NR>G Innovations, and if so how good is the brand its self, is it mainstream or just a junk brand.
If anyone could help me out that would be great thanks.

The hood will bend when you close it and may cause the carbon to crack. Carbon hoods aren't lighter than the OEM and the fitment is usually garbage. I have a set of NRG's and they work great, keep in mind I have an OEM HR hood.
the teins are actually strong enough to push the bolts straight off the hood when down and yeah crack the carbon fiber
NO BUEANO
just get some low pressure ones from a local store ( advance, auto zone) and they will do fine... i also jsut had my VS3 hood pull itself apart from the fiberglass reinforcement and slam back into the windshield and roof
, hood pin that **** for sure

I'm using the NRG ones on my CF hood and they work fine. No warping so far. They have 2 types, one for normal hoods and one for lightweight hoods, just be sure to get the right ones.
As has been said, the CF hood is not much lighter than the stock hood and the fitment really leaves a bit to be desired, but I sport mine proudly and if it's a look you want, go for it.
The NRG dampers work just fine. Also, if you're really scared of warping, I've heard of people using just 1 damper, but I don't have any experience with that.
Also, be sure to get some hood pins. You don't want to risk what could happen without them.
