Red also works well. The"hot" colors..blue,yellow...overpower the great design of the body.Black looks good on just about every car...works well on the Z.
However, color is personal. Most people are just not good on what "works".
Thats why they hire decorators etc.
Reading your info. (past Z),It was Daytona blue. This tells meyou like the
"car show" stuff. The red, albeit the shade of red used on the Z is great--Ferrari-like,may be too mild for you.Another factor is your interior.I'd guess
your's is black...could be gray..possible burnt orange if OEM.

If it were me,I'd leave it red.A complete color change done right is big bucks.
I tend to like the platinum used on the GTR.You mentioned carbon fiber interior in your future plans. This would really match.

I've seen this color "done right"..its so deep it looks like you can fall into it.

YEP...YOUR Z WILL BE PERFECT!

How about adding a poll to this thread so it's not just a zilliion different answers?

+1 for the 40th Gray or the Lexus color-changing white pearl that I see on IS350's.
Good point, Waizzz. OP, you should really throw out some colors that you like and don't like. It gives people a good starting point of great options that are out there. Personally, if you're going to actually strip down the car for a full paint job, I wouldn't go back to a Nissan color.

I'm guessing you guys wouldn't recommend 1 day paint? I was thinking of getting my car painted (super black) the paint has a ton of scratches EVERYWHERE it drives me crazy. I was going to paint it the same color, should I paint it or is there a paint restoration process I could go through?

If you're going to do the "1 Day Paint"/Maaco route, DO NOT change the color of the car! They cut every corner they can and you will have red in all sorts of places that you don't want it.

Keep in mind, to do a full color change the right way, your door/hatch jams, under hood, engine compartment, and under all your weatherstripping need to be done.

Haha I was...but then I read reviews and yeah, HELL NO!
I just wanted my paint to be less messy.... I took it to Mascar and they said that I don't even have to paint it... I just have to get a very good detail that'll set me back a couple hundred but I don't mind, still cheaper!

I was thinking if I was going to have it painted might as well change the color for a little more, but I was told I could just get a good detail to fix the paint so i'll be going that route! Thanks for the info though
