So I am guessing my blue bulbs arent stock then. Ill have to pull them out and take a look but from what I have been reading they might actually be illegal haha.

but, yes, older Z's had the parking lights in the fenders, but these were lit, unlike a reflector which just sorta chills out there. Japanese spec cars got clear functioning side markers (actually pretty much all over except North America), but we still have the amber reflectors in the bumper too - sort of a reflector overload on these cars
all semantics anyway !

I would say mine do the same but whenever I drive up to someones house at night they comment on how my lights look blue. Maybe this is normal IDK.

I think this is just how the 03-05 lights are.
I have almost no problems with my 03-05 lights at all.
The only dislike I have over the 06+ is how puny my lights look in comparison.
The 06+ just fills up the headlight, which appeals to me.
If you worry about not having HIDs, I saw a vendor on here selling OEM looking headlights with HID's already in them.
I remember them being only like 3XX$ shipped?

Has anyone on here done the 05 to 06 headlight conversion? will it bolt right in? I've read all the threat, but haven't seen anything about people actually done the swap. thanks..

never mind, I found it on Z1 website..
These are genuine Nissan HID projector headlights as found on the 2006 models. Unlike previous years, the 2006 models received a true projector lense for increased light output and a much more modern look. Direct plug and play for any 2003-2005 350Z that came with factory HID. If your car was not equipped with factory HID's, you'll need to purchase an aftermarket HID kit with D2S bulbs. Priced per pair.

If you wanna spend 1500 bucks on headlights.....unless someone has spare cash ready to blow, i certainly don't. I could see so many better ways to use 1500 than just making my headlights brighter.
My 05 Anni also has the HIDs, they start off blue for about a minute, then they get whiter but still keep a very slight tint of blue in them. They also fade on, like an old school tube TV warming up.

You headlight might have been tampered with.
They could have been blacked out which doesnt allow them to reflect light.
or
You dont have HID's because you have a base model
or
You need to replace your bulbs
or
You need to realign where your headlights aim which can easily be done
