Bumper Fitment Question
i recently picked up a nismo v2 replica bumper and the fitment isnt the greatest which is understandable with it being after market. my question though, do you think a body shop could start working on it and say, no we cant do it. its not going to be possible to fit right? the fitments a little off around the lights and by the fenders. the ends by the fenders poke out a little bit also. of course keep in mind this isnt bolted up. its basically just sitting right now

how much you guys think its gonna cost to get that fitted, the holes where the canards were filled along with a could other holes filled? im thinking like 400-500 painted?

Poly is much harder to work with than fiberglass parts. Filler and various forms of fiberglass won't bond properly to poly parts, which is why poly parts usually have good molds that have good fitment to start with (though that's not always the case) because manufacturers know that the product you get initially is about as good as fitment is going to get and the molds for poly are expensive so they do it right the first time. Fiberglass on the other hand can be worked extensively. The only real limit is how much time and money someone wants to spend working on the part for proper fitment and look.
And if you meant he could simply bend the part more if it was poly, I don't really see that being the case either. The fitment issues around the fenders and certainly around the headlights could not be fixed by simply pulling on a poly bumper, trying to make it fit.

i was speaking specifically in OPs case. looks like the bumper fits well just the pic where the edge sticks out is his main issue. if it was poly he probably could cut down the inside and pushed the edge in and bolt it up and it coulda been almost flushed

alright so i know im bumping this from the dead but i took it to a shop and got a 1000 dollar quote on the install lolololol.
anyways i'd like to prep it myself so my question is what should i use as a filler for the holes? my car is low and im sure i will scrape bumper time to time so i dont want to hit something and where i filled the holes to just crack on me
tips, suggestions? thanks. should i just shave down the sides as well? Or drill and try to make it fit the best i can
