Carbon Fiber
I have found the Carbon fiber hood and hatch that i want to get but i was curious do they make a CF roof for the non-convertible? And also would doing the Hood and Hatch and Roof be worth it for the weight savings?

Your goal is to have a LIGHTER car?
Why?What are you planning to do?
FYI,a CF hood is not gonna give you a weight loss over the OEM alluminum hood.
The hatch will. There is no CF roof for the Z unless you want a overlay.

My plans for the car are basically to make it look great at first. Then after i get the exterior and interior work done i will focus on the motor and suspension. I will be going with a TT setup and a couple other extras to take me to the mid 400hp range. I know that if i loose a couple hundred pounds it will def. make it easier to go faster. The S2K is a great example of that. I will mostly be doing Interstate pulls but there is a close autocross course i was looking at so hitting that once or twice will happen. So end result i want the best HP/Weight and Torque/weight Ratios that i can get without really going over the top.

In a nutshell.
Hatch with lexan rear glass is DEF a good weight reduction but other than interior gut out etc thats about it. unless you go lighter exhaust etc. but our hoods are very light factory.
the OP says he has a convertible to btw so no cf roof unless you wanna yank out the rag top lol

Sorry i thought OP said he had a convertible. and no they are just overlays. i wouldnt even trust a CF roof for structural intergrity... after they made it so thick it probablty wouldnt even reduce much weight.

As already mentioned the hood is pointless, you will either gain or lose a pound depending on the hood you buy, the hatch is a 20 pound saving , more if you installed a plexi window. The roof will be a few pounds but...... to properly install one you will need to install a rollcage to properly brace the body. If your serious, there are a few places that would probably make a roof for you, shouldn't cost to much.
Freeway pulls, how ******* lame.
If your serious about power to weight there in not much you can do for interior but remove it. You can also cut out the shelf unit behind the seat without problems.

I appreciate everyone letting me know the aluminum Hood is already light enough not to worry about. I will not be going over the top with Weight Reduction so gutting the interior is not an option but the CF hatch with Lexan window will be. I know Freeway Pulls are on the lame side of things and might not be your thing but like i said before i might see track time 1-2 times a year. The Cops in my area watch the town streets real close and I live in a really small town so it's not that hard for them to watch. But we found a 1 mile straight on the interstate that takes us from one side of town to the other that the cops don't watch. Maybe the town clowns aren't allowed to watch interstate but all i know is that the state boys don't watch it and the Clarion police don't watch it either.

you want to know why i hate on highway pulls?? because i had a good friend die becuz some jackass like you thought he would do a highway pull and couldnt slow down in time and rear ended my buddy on a bike and threw him down the road where he was ran over by a truck and killed. THATS why i hate on highways pulls

^ very true! Plus them drag racing fines do mess around, not worth it.
Can someone direct this guy to the "17yr old z owners thread"? Not trying to br mean but you can't expect to come here and say I wanna go fast so I can street race then justify why you are able to get away with it. Just saying.

ok not being a smart *** but you guys who aren't from this area don't understand when i said i had a close track to me its a little over 50 miles away. Second i have driven multiple fast cars in my life and i have never gotten or have been close to getting in trouble. I am not supporting street racing at all i just like to have rides that have the looks and the power to go with those looks. Dude i am sorry to hear about your friend... and thats why when we do pulls we make sure that we have open roads with no one around us. so if anything does happen its just us that could get hurt and nobody else.

One track is 13 miles away from me, i get on it maybe 1 time a year , next track is 60 miles away and i get on it 5 times a year, the next two are 230 miles away and i get on them about 2 times a year each. The next two tracks are 330 miles away. 50 miles away is close, use the track. I would use the close track to me, but they only offer maybe one event a year on it.
