Glad you got your answer though, there should really be a generic body kit identification thread.

Default JP Vizage Type-S Sideskirts- Owners-How Low over stock?

Hi All

I am very interested in purchasing the JP Aero Type S Sideskirts 2003+
350Z , but i am interested to know how much these lower the overall side profile of the skirt? And if so, by how much?

Owners please chime in. They look like they may infact just bold onto the side and tuck under just a little, at least judging from this picture.

I have a downward sloping driveway, so its important i do not ground out going down it.

Currently i have 1 inch of clearance at the worst spot on my driveway with the standard skirt, lowered as it is on HotChkis.

Any help appreciated

Regards

J

I have SHINE SPEC-S side skirts that are similar to the ones you are looking at but are
more rounded/carbon fiber. They are about one inch lower than stock.
You are probably correct, they bolt onto the car using the same bolts used
to attach the OEM side skirt. My skirts came predrilled. For some reason,on the driver's side, some holes did not match up...had to redrill a few to match. No big deal. The passenger side was perfect.Took about 30 min. to do both sides with no assistance.
Seems if you only have one inch clearance now(your car lowered),you are gonna have a problem with any side skirt you install. The ones I have are probably the best in not severly impacting the clearance and looking very conservative.
I'd be glad to e-mail a pic or,check the Shine website.

I would imagine if you put a piece of wood where you have 1", you will be able to run these sides and not have a problem. You won't know until you try it : /

the issue with these skirts is that they are straight.. many full sideskirts have a raised portion slightly before the rear wheel to allow better clearance.

I dont see how the sideskirt would be an issue in a driveway tho.. thats a front end clearance issue.. the sideskirts ahve issues going over speed humps.. and tend to hit just before the rear wheel.

Be prepared to scrape if you buy any kit on a lowered 350z.. its not to be worried about tho.. its just part of the fun.

Thread merged with your other sideskirt thread.

Whatever these are they sit pretty low and you will need to factor in your own suspension before deciding.

The problem is that i have an underground parking space, and i have to reverse DOWN the ramp to get into it. (If i go down head-first my Aerosync front hits at the bottom). The problem comes when as the first pair of wheels go down the ramp, this leaves the other set on the higher section, until they eventually get to the ramp portion also. Until then though, it is thus lowering the front mid section of the car (as im reversing) onto the point where the horizontal ground, meets the downward ramp section. Its the downward, drop away issue i have. If it were a speedhump, or an upward ramp section, it would be the Aerosync front that would effectively 'filter out' the potential for the mid section to hit, as it is lower by quite abit.

the things we do for low cars. . .

In addition,I sure would be worried about the sharp edge design of these skirts.Looks good, but damage waiting to happen with everyday driving and parking.
