HID.. Not set correctly.. any Troubleshooters?
Hey Everyone!
I just had a black housing conversion done to my Z. I had the stock HIDs on my car, and everything is still in tact and all put back together. . VERY GREAT JOB. . except for my HID positioning.
I noticed that they are crossing a bit in the middle of the road and not perfectly in line.
This could have been how it was before, I just haven't drove my car in 3 weeks - I almost forgot! haha.
Does anyone know if and how I could re-align my HIDs? I want to stay away from Nissan as much as I can, becuase with doing a custom black housing conversion, I don't want them to mess up and blame me :-(
I hope someone can help with any tips on alignment. . . or better, if anyone could take pictures of their HIDs on the road at night? I'm curious to see everyones path to see if mine is really bad or not.

Check out my post on installing HIDs in a base Z. There is a picture of the pattern as seen from the driver's perspective. You'll notice the two projector hot spots - they dont cross.

I know how to adjust them up and down. Side to side is a mystery. For up and down, get a long flathead screwdriver with not that wide of a tip. Get a flashlight, and plot a visual line straight back towards the windshield from the projector. You will see a hole that has a shiny metal gear at the bottom. By sticking your screwdriver down there, and rotating it, you will move the headlight up and down.
I suggest you look through the internet for articles on how to correctly aim your headlights against a wall.

Thanks MrGraphics. . . I started a new thread on this (to word it better and have pictures)
Maybe by the pictures, you can tell if it is something I need to adjust vertically - or if i'm royally screwed :-(
