Thanks for the info guys. I do have a question for you though:
I have 0 experience with seat replacements but am very interested in it. How do Recaros compare to the stock seats in comfort? I realize that they are sport seats, and are designed to offer a driver the "perfect" support and feel, but I don't want to have a painful back everytime I take my baby out. Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

don't forget
your gonna need rails and mounting kits for them, there goes another $150 - $200.
I don't know those seats look a little lite in the padding dept.
But, you would be able to shed several pounds off the Z them.
You have and specs such as weight for them?
I'll bet the stock seats must be at least 30-35lbs each.

....yup, you'll need brackets and sliders made for each specific seat to mount them on to your car without any modifications. I am going with a pair of Sparco Torinos. I had a local shop ask on ETA for the 350Z sliders/brackets, but they didn't know since the car has just come out. Does anybody know if the brackets/sliders for the 350Z are shared with any other nissan car that's already out there?? (I was thinking maybe 300ZX or even Skyline, since all top name manufacturers already have applications for both) ...

The seats pictured are Recaro SRD's. I have sat in them and can honestly say they are the best I've ever sat in. They are standard in the Japanese spec Integra Type-R. I prefer them over the one piece racing shells which really grab you and can get uncomfortable in a hurry. SRD's are a great compromise and you can't go wrong with them. They are better than any stock seat I've sat in except something like the Porsche GT3 seats (which are also made by Recaro).

Well another month has gone by since the last post and I was wandering if anyone has done any seat replacements or looked into it. Personally I am liking the seats that come with the car, except for that movement during hard right turns (we'll see if Nissan has a fix) I might just replace covers if they wear and seat structure holds up.

The airbags are a consideration, because you have the side airbags that are on the side of the seat but the other ones are on the pilar so unless they are connected there souldn;t be a problem other than losing the side air bags.
But that being said it adds a point that makes me rethink changing seats, so hopefully the current seats hold up and only covers need changing, but even then how are the airbags installed? Are they attached to the cover or the seat?

Sparco Seat Brackets
Sparco 350Z specific floor brackets are part # 00500/2066F for the drivers side and 00500/2067F for the passenger side. They both have provisions for the factory female seat belt buckle to be re-attached for use of the stock belts. They retail for $ 75.00 per bracket. The should also fit the G35 Coupe.
