Help with "Personal" steering wheel Leather vs Suede
What's going on guys? thinking of picking up a new steering wheel for my Z and I'm leaning towards a "Personal" one but I am having hard choices between the leather one vs a suede one. I want the suede but afraid that'll wear and tear over time? For those with either or, can you guys give me some input? also what hub did you go with as well. Thanks

Suede is great for track cars that get driven with gloves on at all times.

I bought a Suede wheel because I liked the suede look better. Not a daily driver so not worried about having to wear gloves or anything anyone else talks about. I know plenty of people who rock suede wheels on even Daily drivers and never complain about it. Go for what you like and think will look better. In the end, any wheel will wear.

Leather looks good when it starts wearing?

Suede looks good, but not practical for a daily driver. If you have the bucks to afford a
Lamborghini(they use suede),you don't worry about the wear. You just buy a new car.
Leather is best.In relation to your subject,I can't understand the use of carbon fiber on a steering wheel?Looks cool for sure. The grip???no better than having a plastic wheel off
a 50's car.

^that's my issue right there! I really wanted to go with suede because I'm having my headliner and my shift wrapped in it as well. I wanted my interior to flow all together. Such a tough choice, I daily drive my Z too!

What about those wood grain type material wheels? No wear, and if you wear gloves there is no wear problem? Seems like a good option. I love suede but it gets crappy after sweat is all over it.

WOOD?
Don't know if hub adaptors are available for a Z.IMO,nothing looks better than a varnished wood wheel in a classic looking car.Unfortunately, the Z
is not a classic looking car.Wood may work for a wheel if you did your interior in a wood dash kit(not my style!).
Leather is still best.

Get leather, take my word for it.
Suede wears out very fast and ends up looking like sh*t. If it's a DD, leather. If it's a track car or driven not so often... suede... as it does help with grip.
Had a suede KEY!S wheel in my car for about 10 months... swapped it out for a nice MOMO Race leather wheel.

I have leather. Love it. Also have a suede headliner. Don't really notice the difference. As mentioned, suede would wear faster and collect more material/oil than the leather. If not a daily, wouldn't be as bad. I just think leather would last longer with conditioning, etc.
