I have a seibon hood, fitment is ok, but I think it's an older hood

OEM fitment is always going to be best.

Why do you want CF? It's not much lighter, just wanting the look?

I have the oem hr style seibon carbon fiber hood and fitment isnt bad. The only thing I would do is sand it down when you get it and spray clear coat on it. Mine has turned yellow and looks nasty

After you paint it it will weigh the same as or more than stock. It's a waste of money. You already have a nice lightweight hood on the car.

Most CF hoods I've seen fit poorly.I've never seen one that was as good as OEM.
IMO,only way I'd consider a CF hood would be one with louvers or some mods to give it a
unique look.I just see too many Civics running around with a 6" exhaust and a CF hood.
Not for me...

My car is red so yeah it's all about the look, I bought the car new back in 07 apart from 2 after market air intakes i havent done a thing to it and just thought a cf hood would make a nice change.
Strange you see something you really want and think to your self im not gonna change a thing on this car....Then after a few years the same old look gets a little old.I guess to each his own.

OP - I have a TS hood, it's painted to match the car except for the CF vents, I love it
that's the only reason I can see to get one

Post pics! ^

I have an OEM 03-05 Vis CF hood.
I love it. Definite head turner.
Fitment I give it a 8/10 right out of the box.

I do wish I had done the clear coat route.
It's been about 2 years since I got the hood, the clear coat is starting to come off on the edges. You can't tell unless you're really close up, but it's my car, so I know it's there, and it's annoying me.

Do you have tourettes? Your responses almost always leave me scratching my head confused...

OP, personally I feel aftermarket anything, regardless of manufacturer, is a gamble. With that being said, its also my feeling that you have much better odds with companies such as MCR, Ings, Top Secret, Chargespeed, etc. They say you have to pay to play, and thats because your odds of quality just increase that much more. I chose to pay a little more for quality and peace of mind rather than going through the frustration of having to buy a few different hoods until I found one that fit "pretty good".

...Top Secret FTW

Fitment isn't bad, but not perfect, I plan on taking it to a body shop and see if they can get it any better than myself

Oh and I know stockers suck, these are going on real soon....

^^ frikin great choice in wheels mister.
Mine are bronze burst.

OP, i have an authentic Veilside that is fully carbon fiber and that is rare w aftermarket hoods, it is maybe 2 lbs lighter than stock but its vented and i wanted that. HUge gap at the nose, so so fit.

I bought a VIS from soneone used as i wanted even larger ducting and vents and OMG, its twice if not 3 times as heavy as a stock hood.. no thanks. Id rath4er run w no hood in the summer than run this thing.

Id stay away from VIS in hindsight. its a CF coating on a fully fiberglass thick hood.

Its truck hood heavy.

Thanks, I'm very happy with my choice. I'm pretty picky about wheels and don't have 3k to spend.

I think the very best option I've seen is have a OEM hood with vents cut into it, perfect fit and looks great
