You will also need the NATS antenna. It's different between the years. I gave up on this because it's a bit hard to find the new antenna from a wrecker.

So I know I'm bumping an old thread here but did anybody ever find some resolution with this? I've been wanting to have an illuminated ignition ring myself. Is it just as simple as buying the clear ring with a socket for a bulb and wiring it up somehow?

I did this on my 2005. The illuminated ring slides right over the ignition barrel and all you have to do is wire the light to the courtesy light circuit. You'll have to leave off the old trim ring because it is too small. The illuminated ring will fill the gap completely.

Hey guys so I bought the ring and got it too fit, but I'm having trouble wiring it..
I want it to turn on with my headlights/parking light but when I make the connections it doesn't work...

I tried the parking light wire driver kick panel
And I tried the illumination wire from the tach.
I tested it to make sure it works by connecting it directly to the battery, so I know it works
Where did you guys connect it to?

So this is how long it takes to get **** done on a project car lol.. I have finally found a time to get this done. And of course.. I've only recently lost the part, kept safely in its box.. In a SLEW of car part stacks lol.. I swapped to 06 door panels, so I'm having Bob Hickey change the keys in the door cup holders, 08 steering g wheel controls, and now this igniter ingredient to match the cool white we did in the rest of the interior I'll post pics back to this at a later date.. glad to see there were updates after I left the thread

I sent him my steering wheel control lights a few months ago and had him change it to white. He also did my cluster, waterfall gauge pod, window switches and hvac a couple years ago. Everything still looks great, although I been thinking of switching to all white like bmccann101. He does great work

That St wheel lighting looks dope, bibs a good buddy to have... . I'm having a factory wheel modded w the flat bottom and top in carbon, carbon switch panels, perf leather, and am reupholstering the air bag in Alcantara w no z logo.. to match the entirety of the rest of the interior. Should be dope.. It's not going to be a cheap part of the build.. This is sadly certain

ok so I found my key light... and my stash of oem parts lol..

but I'm still at a bit of a loss as to how this installs.. do you remove the NATS anti theft ring and install it in between that and the ignition cylinder?
here's my cylinder, and also the diagram for a later model 06+.

you take the black ring around the ignition NATS thing and you have to take a dremel and trim around it to slide the ignition light in or you buy a NATS from an 06+ and have it reprogrammed and re keyed lol.

be careful when you trim the black thing there are wires wrapped inside.

Guys.. Really hoping for a thread reply here.. Again I have an 06 steering wheel w audio controls.. An 06 clock spring cable.. And a 2005 vehicle.. The cruise control works as is.. But I can't figure out what wires to add to the car side of the clock spring plug to allow the dimmable illumination and audio control wiring... Can someone please assist? I've been here for a decade.. Hoping to get a bit of insight here, would really appreciate it, as I'm totally stuck.
