Default Rant! Am I being to **** on this paint job?

So I took my car to a National paint shop because it was a warranty job and it was right down the street from me and I did not have to pay anything out of pocket. Luckily it was just the A-Pillar that needed work because Safelite somehow cracked the paint on my A-pillar and I wanted it fixed. When I got the car back everything looked fine and it was hard to tell if there were any defects in the bright *** sunlight but once I got home and got to inspecting their work under better light I really got to see how much of a shoddy job they did. Needless to say I will be bringing it back for them to correct but I'm just more upset about the inconvenience of taking the car back to them again and being without a car the whole day.

As you can see in this pic how the paint kind of bubbled up, compare that to the paint on the hatch which is nice and smooth!! Big Difference

And I don't know what they did here and I don't know if you can see it but there are a bunch of scratches under the clear coat. My wife is saying I'm **** but whatever, I noticed it and it bothers me to no end that they did such a shoddy job. Do you guys think I'm being to **** or would you feel the same way?

End of Rant

I can see a slight orange peel. If you paid $2000 let it go. If you paid $5000 plus this is unacceptable.

The scratches under the clearcoat might be due to it not being prepped right...
IMO, sometimes you can miss a spot or two when wet sandingif you are doing a whole car, but in your case, it's just a small pillar... So that is unaccpetable!

As far as the orange peel, just wet sand it with 1500 and then move up to 2000, and if you want it perfect move up to 2500... Then just buff it out...

Now you said the paint on the hatch is smooth? Are you the first owner? If not, maybe the previous owner had it wet sanded and buffed... Believe it or not, even from the factory, brand new cars have orange peel(whether you notice it or not)...

A pillar, not the whole car.

Point still remains though. How much did you pay?

If you dont like it,take it back. They can make it match the rest of the car.As long as the actual color is good,I woudnt worry about it.

The orange peel can be fixed pretty easily but I do see what you are saying about the scratches under the paint. If you're really bothered by it take it back and see what they can do for you. Perhaps if you point it out to them they will offer to correct the problem.

Kinda looks dry.....wet sand may or may not take that out.... Orange peel looks different .... But I could be wrong....And for scratches... Prolly bad prep job... They prolly let some one new do it cause it's not a big job...

What did this job cost you?
Sounds like you wanted to get it done at that shop because of
convenience not quality. The pics really don't show the scratches well.
If it were me(because I am **** on every detail)I'd take it back. But,it
still may not come back right! You also brought up a good point about Safelite.
They have some good installers. They also have many guys installing that
just are not trained properly.Safelite is next to my company. The installers
I've seen and talked to look like they just started yesterday. If I was replacing a
windshield,I'd go to a local independent that has great reviews.I replaced
my windshield on my car (had a crack from road junk),cost me $165 installed.
They did it in a hour.Looks better than OEM.
Take that sucker back.Your wife knows nothing about how you feel.
You'll sleep better at night when you get it "right".

Yes I am the first owner and have polished the paint several times. No, this job has not cost me anything. I'm afraid though if I mess with it and can't fix it it will void their warranty and then they won't fix it.

I'd be pissed about the scratches under the clear coat. Is that over spray on the rubber seal as well? I'd have them redo everything and replace the seal.
