Default 06+ headlight covers?

Does anyone know if the 06+ headlights have the same Clear fronts as the 03-05 ones? Reason I ask is I have sever stress cracks from the sun on my outer clear plastic and I can neither order just the clear outers or fix them. I would like to not have to purchase a whole new set of HR headlights to do the swap. As I am painting and doing demons eyes to my current headlights. And I don't want to put the cracks clears on new painted headlights.

Anyone got a thought?

when you say "clears" are you referring to the headlight's lenses?

not Im talking about the front clear plastic. The piece that you have to put in the oven to take apart. the outer piece.

You can't purchase just the covers. It's the whole headlamp unit, or nothing.

I figured but are the 06+ lights able to have the 03-05 lens put on them? Cuz then i would buy and 03-05 set and swap the lens.

Sorry, I don't now the answer to that one. The two styles do have some differences, though. For example, the later covers have that dimpled area over the signal light, which the older ones don't.

Im leaning towards no, because Ive seen 03-05s with 06 headlights have gaps between the light and bumper, which leads me to believe theyre different shapes/sizes.

Yes. but I think in that case it's the difference between the old and new bumpers.

Youre right, they are designed differently to accommodate the light size. If they changed the 06 bumper style without changing the light theyre would be a fitment issue with all 06-08s.

All based on observation, but logically makes sense.

All 350z headlights have the same dimensions , the lens is also the same. Only the housings are different

^ Interesting, the ones Ive seen with gaps must've had poorly fitted lights/bumpers.

This. Many members here including myself bought Ebay 03-05 headlight assembly and swapped the lenses. There's DIY out there.
