Default Silver Z - Thinking of Painting New Spoiler Black... thoughts?

Alright so I've got the silverstone color on my Z. At the moment it is all pretty much stock, but I've got a Nismo V2 on the way and am pretty sure I'm going to go with the black lip, black grill, and black canards for it. So far that will be the only black accents anywhere on my car.

I also picked up a new spoiler - similiar to the N1 style spoiler but not quite as big, and when I get the bumper painted I was going to get the spoiler painted and installed as well. I've been playing with the idea of painting the spoiler black, think it may look nice with the dark tint, and if I did some other tacky things like black door handles, and eventually black rims (possibly). Thinking if I paint the spoiler black I'll do the paint and install myself, been itching to actually get some of my own work put on my Z. Here is the spoiler sitting now...

I need your opinions without totally flaming me. I'm totally against making my car look ricey or too over the top, so let me know if that would do it haha. I tried googling some CF spoilers on silver to see what it looks like but can't find good pictures. Anybody have thoughts or pictures?

oh dear..

buddy, i wouldnt mount that wing on your car.. and my taste is as liberal as it gets..
its not even a 350z specific wing is it? Im not being mean, if anything I pitty and must console you.
And if you DO mount it, no...do not paint it black.

You are going to get flamed and locked, but it wont be by me.. proceed w your day..

I think if you tinted your windows, black lip, black canards as mentioned it should look good.

Some tacky mods would be painting your door handles, and your wheels black... I have nothing against buying replicas, even though I'm a brand ***** myself but painting oem wheels black just doesn't cut it imo. As for the door handles some cars can pull it off, others fail.

Are you getting a front lip or the entire version 2 front bumper? Version 2 bumper is the most played out bumper, everyone and their little sister has it...

I will say hold on with the spoiler for now, get the V2 painted and installed. Then take a second look at your decision

If you paint it, you should paint the uprights silverstone and the wing black. If you paint the whole thing black, it is going to look like it doesn't belong.

Unless you have other black accents it's going to look like you didn't paint it

I would suggest you paint it silver

I expected this I'm afraid... and no I wasn't talking about painting the wheels black FYI haha

I was a little concerned about the spoiler myself (no matter the paint)... I got it pretty cheap from a local guy and worst case I throw it back up FS no harm done. But if I get it matched silver I don't think the spoiler alone is too ricey/ugly? It goes up ~1.5 inches, and less radical than the V1 spoilers I see everywhere. Guess I could do the bumper first, but was going to have the spoiler done at the same time... hmmm decisions decisions

If you think the V2 is overplayed, then throw me some suggestions. I cracked my stock bumper and figure if I'm spending money then I'll get something nice. Also since I've got a few guys here, is Bausauto recommended to order from... how about extremedimensions (ED is dirt cheap so I'm wondering why... fitment/quality/???)

There are a crap load of options for the Z. Just look into it. Try to be a little different.

I say it's overplayed because the amount of threads about it is overwhelming. Just search the forum if you don't believe me lol.

I like the factory bumper and I would recommend a vs style front lip, or something of that nature. If you want an aggressive look than definitely get a front bumper/body kit.

I've looked into Bausauto and haven't heard anything bad about them, they carry shine replicas, which I hear are fairly priced and fitment is good.

Keep in mind that no matter where you get your kit from its gunna need work. Just do some research before you pull the trigger. There's a body kit thread, id recommend checking it out for ideas. They even labeled the kits, lips, wings etc.!

Most importantly mod your car to your liking, I don't know about you but I didn't want my car to be a clone of the rest of the crowd.

Let us know what you get!

Personally,I don't like the "black" idea on your silverstone unless the "black" accent is CF.
Just painted black or matte black is just not gonna look good.My car is the same color as yours.I've done CF on my body parts. However,I held off on doing too much black to
other areas.I went with the brushed silver accents of the car, door handles, emblems and
followed the alloy look with my wheels, fender &hood vents.IMO if you do all this black
with your door handles, wheels and now your body mods, you are going to rice up your car.Besides, there are tons of Z's in your area with the same thing going on.

Just get a can of plasti rice and spray it, it's the trendy thing to do. You may even get half a rice point when people see it from a distance and thing it's carbon fibre

if you are going to stick with the spoiler and do the front bumper you mentioned with the black accents then do the spoiler black and black out headlights, nothing else. i would do silver wheels with a polished lip.
that being said...i like the front bumper you are planning (played out or not - its a soild looking bumper that looks good on the car when installed and painted correctly)
I dont like the spoiler. blitz style spoiler done in black would look decent.
other things to consider if you are planning a rear add on or complete rear bumper and if the car is lowered or going to be.
if not planning to lower the car then none of the above.

I'm not a big fan of multi colors. Not even with carbon fiber. Splitter, diffuser, gt Wing pulls it off, but most others I do not care for
