Default I Need Help Identifying a Tachometer!

Hoping you all can help me find a specific tachometer.

I watched a video in the track/autocross section I believe and this guy, whoever he was, had an awesome tachometer.

I searched for a while but couldn't find the video OR the thread it was in but I can describe it somewhat.

It had a rather large face and black insert. The reason I want to find it though is because the reading changed colors depending on where in the RPM range you are.

For example if he was under 6k the display would be green, over 6k but under 7k it would be yellow, and over 7k it would flash red. Not just a little light attached to the gauge but the actual numbers and markers and stuff changed color!

Really hoping you guys can help me out here...and hoping this is alright in this section.

Google search: "color changing tach." Saw quite a few under images. Good description, I could totally picture "large face as most tachs do."

That's my problem...If I could have found the thread I probably wouldn't have needed to post this

I'm trying to figure out any better way to describe it...I suppose I should have said it was a "large" tachometer. I doubt that it was something from Pep boys though as the google search suggested.

It's possible it was a completely custom deal and not something that can simply be purchased but anyways...I'll keep looking for the video.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic...As far as I know tachs don't differ TOO much but I figured the fact that it changes color dynamically would set it apart from most other gauges.

I didn't

I tried to look in my browser history also but it has been about a month since I actually saw the video. Unfortunately I just now remember to ask what it was

I saw that one too. The video is actually of a track race though...it's not focused on the tachometer which is why it's hard for me to find.

I'm almost positive it was a video from an HPDE run, shot from a camera mounted inside the car...the tach just happened to be in the frame

I looked through some posts of his and wasn't able to find anything...maybe it was a different guy.

This is killing me it seems like a pointless search but once you guys see this thing you'll know why it is worth the trouble
