Racing Seats and Stock Seat Belts
Hey folks, couldn't find a thread on this so I apologise if this has already been discussed.
I have 2006 base 350z, and I'm about to put in some Cipher racing seats and for now, I'm gonna use the stock seat belts. However I can't seem to figure out how to mount the buckle to the new seats. The bucket looks like its mounted to the side of the seat but there in no place to do that on the new seats. Any ideas?
Thanks a bunch!

this type of seat, is typically a bottom mount. Which goes on top of sliding rails, which themselves bolt down to a seat bracket.
this seat bracket will have the L shaped tab with hole in which your re-attach your OE seat belt buckle to.
so if think of a top down approach

Stock seats are consider "race seats" and these ones are much sportier. And offer more support and bracing than stock and allow for harnesses, so myself and others consider these "race seats" However if you want the true definition of "race seats" they are uncomfortable and they look like you are strapped to a flippin' rocket. Just sayin'.

Also, every single one of those seats are bucket seats. They dont have to be buckets to be classified as a race seat. Because 80% of people think that style is a piece of **** and we would like to have healthy backs when we are older.

"Racing seat provides more stability and support for drivers than normal factory seats. It holds the driver in a fixed position in the car or cockpit, allowing maximum concentration and feedback through the steering wheel. Racing seats are also lighter, which drops substantial weight from the car. They can be revised into two categories: Fixed back and Reclining seats."
That's an official definition from Websters dictionary. Sorry to burst yer bubble bro!

It's missing a very important hole for running a harness, all the seats I listed have the proper holes. Also no one will actually race with an adjustable back seat, race seats are fixed back.

Actually those are not set up for a harness , and stock seats are far from being race seats.

Look more into FIA approval, there are seats on the market that were once approved, they have to pay large amounts yearly to kep the cert. there are a few quality seats on the market that are not approved.

Your assuming everyong is going to have a 5-6 point harness. Personally i like my baby makers and refuse to strap them down. Ill stick with a 4 point; still considered a racing harness. Plus, what kind of race we talking about here? Hard core or casual? I'm not driving a formula car... And reference the above definition. Those seats I linked meet those standard, maybe not to the extream, but they meet them none the less.

Harness sets are designed for use with a sub-strap. Use of harness set without sub-strap can cause serious injuries!
The sub-strap holds the harness buckle in place over the pelvis area and helps prevent the driver from sliding down in the seat.
The pelvis area can withstand 5000lbs. of load before serious injury where the abdominal area can withstand only 800 lbs.
of load so it is very important that the harness remains in the proper location.
