Question would you paint your door handles?

One of my friends was asking me about if I was going to also paint my door handles DB (he know's I'm working on getting body kit, etc...) I told him I definitely was NOT going to, just cause I think it would take away something from the Z. I remember when I first saw the Z the door handles, they were of the first things to grab my attention. I know there's been threads on the handles before, but I not sure if one about painting them had come up. So, just wondering would any of you paint your door handles to match? Or if it's been done, anyone have any pics of this?

Im strongly considering it. thought I want to paint them bronze to match the rims; so they dont blend in with the body; but they "match".

got quoted 200-250today for what he said would be a difficult job of matching the color of the rim; and attempting to mimic the somewhat unique texture of the finish. he said 100 for paint because he's sure he'll waste a fair amount getting the color right; and I guess 1-150 and he would "dry spray the hell out of it" to give it a rough pixelated finish.

Im not sure yet...

I'm considering it if I also decide to powdercoat my rims gunmetal. I'de go for the gunmetal on the door handles as well like ares posted. Paird with the smoked overlays from Bat, and some dark tint, I'm going for a kind of "stealth" look.

I don't think I'de paint them black on my Super Black though. Just wouldn't look right...

I personally like how they are stock. So painting them the body color is out of the queston for me.

only 140$? thought it'd be more than that,. i'd buy a set just to experiment with. if you're going with gunmetal rims IMO the handles need to be gunmetal too. can't wait to see the pics bat.

Definitely post up pics asap! And just to let you know again, I'm loving the headlight overlays, they've been great since day one.

Mine are getting painted as we speak. One of the things I hate on the 350z.... The Z body is so sleek and beautiful that just throws everything away. If they would of done the door handle on top like the RX7 or NSX would of been SIC! its like you see the car than BAM you see those big *** ugly door handles...

Haha, fair enough

But I'm waiting another week or two until I post pics of my baby, I'm gonna have some new wheels, and little something else... the pics are coming though, I promise.

Thumbs up

I am developing the "dark side" of my Z and the idea of dark door handles appeals to me. First, I'll see how Bat's smoke overlays look and then I'll decide what to do with the doors, if anything. I like some contrasting highlights, like red brake calipers, but I'm toning down the shiny chrome bits. I guess I like clean-cut lines and an aggressive "Stealth" look. That's my opinion...

I like the stock handles. They don't match my gun metal wheels but I couldn't care less at this point.

Is there a way to make the handle look like black chrome? Know what I mean. I am looking for like a laquer over metal look.

why would you want to paint them the same as the color of your rims?? same as the car i can understand. but what if you decided later on down the road you want some silver or polished rims...then it'll look weird. and not to mention possibly make it that much harder to try to sell the car later on if you decide/need to. just not a smart choice IMO.
