Cool Rear Strut bar cover tower emblem replacement

So ive got all the plastic pieces surrounding the silver strut bar cover off, but i cant get the silver piece out. I read that people say it just pops off, but when i try to gently pull it up, theres a lot of crackling noises so im scared im gonna break it. Just want to make sure im doing it right. Below is a picture, all the black pieces aren't attached:

Just pull evenly on either side of that rectangle cover piece with a see saw motion

Just pull it lol, even if it breaks you can replace the broken clips

This.

There are only 2 clips holding it in, which are evenly placed on center on either side of the Z emblem on the underside.
