Question Seat cover in washing machine

Since the seat covers unzip is it possible to just throw them in the washing machine? Has anyone tried this before? I have cloth seats so I don't think it should be an issue.

Which parts unzip? I know for a fact the bottom cushion is attached with hog rings. I just had to take mine apart. But it is very easy to remove and reinstall. I wouldn't put them through the washing machine though. I couldn't see that turning out well.

How did you get the two top deals off that the head rest goes into?

Yeah dry cleaning might be the best route. I just bought the car and the seats are kind of dirty. Anyone know of a guide on how to take them off?

I know the back of the seat has a zipper. I assumed the bottom would be similar but the hog ring set up doesn't look too bad.

The cloth is removable, just like the leather. It has hog rings that hold it on.....

A tip: instead of re-using the hog rings, just use small zip ties. Works so much better and easier!

Technically yes, but not in the manner he's thinking! I had the same thought until I tried and I realized put it back on would be the hardiest part!

Great advice! I just did the bottom cushion on mine and used the zip tie trick. Worked like a charm.

I've never seen a DIY on it. I can tell you that the bottom is incredibly easy to do. I took apart both a leather and cloth seat cushions, swapped the weight sensor over, then reassembled both in an hour.

I cannot, however, speak to the seatback. I've never needed to attempt to do that piece.

Leatherseats.com provides a dissassembly/installation How-to specific for the 350z.

Just be sure to take the extra precautions if you have seat airbags.
