So I finally decided to paint my headlights. Well when pulling the tape off the chrome backing a lot of it came off. Anybody know anyway of repairing this?

 

Were you painting your lenses or your headlight housing?

 

the housing. I'll post a pic so you can see what I'm talking about

 

 

paint the chrome too. Those are ugly anyways. Make everything all black.

 

I would but unfortunately I'm in England and that would cause me to fail the MOT inspection

 

oooooooaaaaaa I really miss the MOT inspections !!!!!!!!...Glad I live in FLA now

 

MOT inspections suck. Thankfully I've been here long enough to find a guy that will pass my car on emissions. Its only putting out double the allowable amount of C02, but his skyline doesn't have cats so he passed mine.

 

also if it isnt 06+ headlights i wouldnt suggest it.....tried it...bad idea

 

The chrome is a required part of the headlight, as it reflects the light outwards. Without it you wont be able to see a thing.

I don't know if you'd be able to get it re-chromed somewhere. But aluminum foil is always a ghetto option. lol.
