Default Plasti-dip...too rice?

O boy I am prepared for some interesting feedback on this topic ha!

I know there is going to be some interesting comments for what I am thinking about here, but I am having a vision and curious to know if it would be something worth trying out.

I have started to hear a lot about this "plasti-dip" and it wasn't until the other night that i saw a video of "fonzie" doing a 2010 M3 in FULL matte white that I had this idea.

What if I dipped my 07 silver alloy Nismo in matte white with black accents? I found a couple pictures, one of a CLS55 in matte white and a blue CTS-V.

It would cost roughly $300-$500 for a full car dip as apposed to 3k-5k vinyl wrap or an expensive colour change. Just thought it would be a good way to preserve the paint and have something "different".

Be critical if you so choose ha, just a "food for thought" kind of idea. Just imagine a Nismo in these colours with blacked out lights and badges!

Those look like edited pictures that may be hiding imperfections. You can get matte white vinyl for less than $500 and do it yourself.

dip kit? I tried wrapping my car, and its no easy task, especially when you are doing it alone. I would love to try and plasti dip my car if it was as easy as shoot and spray...

If it's sprayed through a professional spray gun by an experienced painter, it won't look like, well Plastidip.

I think its a good idea if you are indecisive about colour choices. This is definitely a 50/50 topic where some 350 owners will say if it doesnt cost thousands of dollars its rice. I have personally seen a car that has been sprayed by a first time user with the $99 wagner spray they include in the kit and it came out awesome. Looks as good as a vinyl wrap and took way less time and effort. I am considering doing it to mine to see what colour I'd like to paint it.

Plastidipping an entire car just screams poser if you ask me. Its like someone wants a quality matte look but doesn't want to pay to play so they cheap out.

Meh... not a fan of the matte white look. I kinda dig that matte blue Cadi CTS-V though.

well if a person wants to keep the value of their car without spending thousands on paint, isn't this a good alternative compared to the price of vinyl... in the end you can always peel it off!

$500 is relatively "low risk". Worst that happens is you don't like it and you peel it off. Time and money lost, lesson learned. Or, maybe you like it and it's the best $500 you ever spend.

Depends. There are correct ways for certain ideas.
